FARMING

OUR FARM

Bolster Moor’s been our family’s patch for four generations, and there’s a lot of pride tied up in this bit of Yorkshire. The farm shop and coffee shop sit right on t’ site of the old family farm, so you’re stood where it all started. We’ve not gone far, just carried things on proper.

STRAIGHT OFF OUR FIELDS

Our cattle and sheep are out in the fields round Bolster Moor, and all the beef and lamb produced on the farm is sold right here in t’farm shop. We know every animal, every field and every season that’s shaped it. From grass to plate, it doesn’t get much closer than this, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

FOLLOWING IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS

Before there was a farm shop or coffee shop, there was John and Harry. Cousins, farmers and Simon and Andrew's dads, they had hens to produce eggs, as well as pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle and pedigree Texel sheep on these very fields. Four generations on, we're still farming t' same land with t' same pride and t' same Yorkshire values. It's where we belong. It's in our blood.

LOOKING AFTER OUR OWN

When we need a bit more than we can produce ourselves, or when it’s things we don’t farm here, we go to neighbouring farms we know reet well. That includes things like milk from Samuel Briggs dairy farm above Slawit, pork from Paddy’s Pigs in Bolster Moor and other trusted local produce. Folk we trust, not strangers. Local has always mattered here, not just for quality but because it keeps Yorkshire farming going strong. It’s how communities stick together and how things should be done.

PROPER YORKSHIRE

It all comes back to family, farming and this bit of ground we call home. Whether you’re calling in for a brew, picking up summat good for tea or just having a wander round, you’re part of the story. Nothing fancy, just proper food from a proper Yorkshire farm, done the way it always has been.
